Collaborative ideas
The concept of collaborative ideas is attractive when you wish to
stimulate team working in your organisation. Note however that this
will normally work best when you are not offering financial rewards
for ideas, which would normally create a more competitive situation.
Forums
In collaborative idea generation, the submitter is able to make
their idea available for pubic comment. People interested in the
idea can then submit comments in a forum which is set up
automatically for the idea, keeping all comments together.
As with most forum / bulleting board techniques, many people can
add comments and can conduct a dialog with each other. At some point
in the process the idea owner or evaluator will merge the thread
into the idea, incorporate the contribution from all collaborators.

against the idea and is publicly visible.
Voting
Voting can be a useful way for colleagues to collaborate. This
allows them to endorse or highlight problems with a proposal even if
they are only agreeing with an earlier contributor. Scoring is
adapted to suit and can be
- Positive only or positive and negative.
- Just a list of numbers or a set of ratings
The vote is displayed against the posting and incorporated into
the rolling average for the idea. The user can amend their vote but
gets only one vote per idea.
